Advancing infectious disease innovation towards the clinic

IDIF invests in promising infectious disease innovations to help bridge the gap between translational research and the next stage of development.

What we look for

IDIF is a separate investment fund dedicated to the InFECT-TT programme, working alongside InFECT-NL to help promising infectious disease innovations move towards commercial development.

Built around leading academic research

InFECT-NL brings together LUMC, Radboudumc, Amsterdam UMC and UMC Utrecht, creating a national network for infectious disease translation and early clinical development. Promising opportunities can progress through InFECT-TT before being referred to IDIF for commercial assessment.

One ecosystem. Different roles.

IDIF is supported by €5.5 million in RVO funding, complemented by matching private capital from the participating academic centres. Together, the organisations form one ecosystem with clearly defined roles: InFECT-NL focuses on research translation and early clinical development, InFECT-TT supports project progression and knowledge transfer, and IDIF provides the commercial investment needed to move promising opportunities towards the next stage.

Independent investment decisions

Opportunities undergo technical and commercial due diligence by LEH B.V. Investment decisions are made independently through the IDIF Investment Committee.
